I received a windstream.com sayiing that I had to change my password with in the next wek.
Is that correct or a hacker?

We currently ask that users change their password every 90 days. And yes, we do send out an email letting customers know. If you are concerned this may be counterfeit, I would suggest you go directly to the portal at we.windstream.com and click "having trouble signing in" to change your password. That way you are assured that you are changing your password on directly on our site.
At this point in time the ability to choose how often you reset your password is not available though we are working on revising that timing based on customer feedback.
I have been with alltel/Windstream for 55 years so it is good there is someone to speak.
tHE CHANGING THE PASSWORD QUARTERLY IS A BIG BURDEN
I prefer to change annually. Can I do that? I am running out of passwords
